The tongs are designed for horizontal handling of hot slabs.
The tongs are to be suspended on an overhead crane through a transitional rotating beam. The tongs are suspended on a transitional beam by a wedge bush or rope blocks. Compression links of tongs are fixed in lifting lugs of the traverse. The transitional beam with tongs is lowered onto slabs to clamp them. The slab is clamped when the central rope is loosened and the beam is lifted by compression links.
