Lifting electromagnets

Lifting magnets (henceforth – magnets) are designed to lift and move sheets, bars and scrap of ferromagnetic materials.

The magnets are to be attached to cranes and other hoisting machines at metallurgical plants, scrap yards and ship-building warfs.

Currently KEP DimAl produces the following types of magnets:

  • DKM (round), available diameters from 100 mm up to 3000 mm,
  • DPM (square/rectangular),
  • M (restored ones),
  • heat-insulated magnets. They are used to move hot cargoes having surface temperature of up to 600 °C,
  • magnets for any climatic requirements,
  • magnets with up to 60% duty ratio,
  • magnets comply with the IP44 safety requirements.

Minimal reduction of hoisting capacity due to operational heating up.

  • KEP DIMAL is one of the best-known companies among manufacturers of lifting magnets in Russia. We offer a wide range of lifting magnets varying in their size, dead weight and lifting capacity (round lifting magnets, rectangular lifting magnets, special-purpose lifting magnets, etc). Lifting magnets are designed for rugged industrial duty with high magnetic permeability castings and high quality stainless steel exciting coil guard plate. The coils of the magnets can be an aluminum or copper one, we also offer composite coils.
  • Every type of magnets is available in welded or cast casing. We are always ready to take order for designing and manufacturing special-purpose lifting magnets, guard magnets and other magnetic equipment which you want to buy. Our lifting magnets are classified according to the EU specifications. Optionally every magnet can be additionally equipped with a specialized control system. We use original patented engineering solutions to lengthen our products’ life-time, to save power and to improve efficiency and safety.
  • Our company performs major repairs of any lifting and guard magnets made in Russia or outside it.
    Lifting magnets may be installed and used as single magnets or as arrangements of multiple magnets. In all of these cases, making an optimum selection of lifting magnet components to handle steel plate and shapes requires a thorough knowledge of the application.
Design features of the DKM series magnets
  • The new redesigned cast casings have the following advantages:
  • Highly-developped ribbing.
  • Extreme durability.
  • Enhanced magnetic field.
  • Improved heat dissipation at the magnet's operation.
  • Additional railing protects the contact box and the power cable from mechanical damage.
  • The contact bох is securely covered with a thick cast lid protecting the box from possible shocks. The horizontal placement of contacts makes it easy to connect the feed cable.
  • The new cast armor of the magnets is extremely durable and rigid and has higher resistance to shocks. This prolongs the lifetime of the magnet and securely protects the coil of the magnet.
