D.P.N.T. control units for electromagnets

OOO "Kirov plant of electromagnets" DimAl" started the production of D.P.N.T. voltage converters designed to power supply lifting electromagnets (hereinafter referred to as the electromagnet).

This series has all the characteristics of the previous DPN one:

  • increased voltage on the coil electromagnet when gripping the load, to accelerate the process of increasing the magnetic holding force (the magnetization mode);
  • return to the electrical network of the energy stored in the coil of the electromagnet to speed up the process of preparing the product for the next working cycle (the recuperation mode);
  • effective demagnetization of the magnetic circuit of the electromagnet by applying a reverse voltage to eliminate residual magnetization (the demagnetization mode).

In addition to the previously existing types of protection:

  • - from a break in the supply cable;
  • - from a short circuit in the load circuit;
  • - from exceeding the operating current.

In this converter, the protection of the electromagnet coil from overheating is implemented.

This type of protection is implemented according to the following algorithm:

in the converter menu, the consumer enters the passport value of the current of the electromagnet working with the converter. After the magnetizing mode, the converter monitors the temperature of the electromagnet coil, based on the value of the current consumed by it at a supply voltage = 220 V.

When 70% of the rated value of the current is reached, a light alarm is turned on when the solenoid coil reaches a dangerous temperature.

When the second limit, equal to 60% of the rated value of the current, is reached, a light and sound alarm is triggered when the solenoid coil reaches a temperature that is dangerous for the integrity of the winding insulation. At the request of the customer, when the second limit (60% of the rated current) is reached, the option to prohibit subsequent switching on of the electromagnet is activated (it is allowed to complete the current operating cycle). The resumption of work is possible after the electromagnet has cooled down (the threshold for allowing work with the electromagnet is the operating current of the coil, corresponding to 60% of the rated current).
