Electromagnetic beams

Nowadays, manufacturers and consumers of rolled metal often face the problem of long rolled metal handling: sheets, pipes of various diameters, forms, profile iron, etc.

There are several ways to solve this issue. One of them is to use an electromagnetic beam.

In this case, we solve the problem of handling of long rolled metal products, as well as some other issues, namely:

  1. During loading and unloading of sheet metal packs into a car using slings, the integrity of sheets is not always ensured (due to possible irreversible deformation of sheets). By operating electromagnets, the sheet deflection that leads to irreversible deformation does not occour.
  2. Electromagnets can capture a bundle of "in bulk" metal sheets with a total thickness of 50 ÷ 60 mm.
  3. Safety of work when handling hot metal (T up to 500 °C).
  4. Handling of several round or square metal products in one lift.
  5. A slingsman is not required.

Each of the above mentioned beam can be made in a wide range of lifting capacity and with a required number of suspension points. It is also possible to manufacture beams with a rotation (turning) mechanism. Please contact the OOO KEP DimAl design department for more details.
